I’m working on a concept for an opera and I need your help. The title is 8 m 28 s (when I say it I simply call it “Eight-twenty-eight”) and the general premise is that the sun has gone out but we aren’t aware for 8 minutes and 28 seconds here on Earth; the amount of time it takes for light to travel from the Sun to us here on the surface of the planet.
The opera will consist of scenes that last for that amount of time and are based on the idea of what we do with our last moments and how we take our time here for granted.
I have a few ideas on where I’d like this to go but I wanted to open this up to answers from others to see if they sparked any creative thoughts for me.
Please answer the three questions below. Your answer might be a single word like “Sleeping” or you can fill in more detail; I leave that up to you!
Thank you in advance for your time, and I hope this doesn’t turn out to be the last 8 m 28 s for any of us!
